Solidarity with Sudan

18th April 2023

Our thoughts are with all Sudanese and others caught in the fighting in Khartoum, Darfur and elsewhere in Sudan. The devastating effects of military conflict and climate change are taking a tragic toll on the lives of civilians, many of whom have filled the world with hope and inspiration in their bravery in standing up to military rule.

We urge all with influence in the UK government, in the region and in the UN to continue to work for an enduring cease-fire and a return to a negotiated transfer to civilian rule, and thank all members of Scotland's International Development Alliance who are working in Sudan and the region for their work to relieve suffering and help those fleeing.
