Scottish Government protect international development funding in draft Budget 2018-2019
We are delighted to see that both the £10M IDF, and last year’s newly established £1M HEF, have been protected in the Scottish Government's draft spending plans for 2018-19 that were announced by Cabinet Secretary for Finance and the Constitution, Derek Mackay, yesterday, 14th December 2017.

On p163 of the draft budget, we warmly welcome that the Scottish government states it remains "committed to being a good global citizen and to playing our part in tackling global challenges including poverty, injustice and inequality”;
On p166, it sets out External Affairs’ priorities for 2018-19, which includes that they will: “continue to take action to help tackle poverty and inequalities in relation to some of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people”.
