Penny Mordaunt on UK aid - The Mission for Global Britain
Secretary of State for International Development, Penny Mordaunt MP, delivered a speech 12th of April 2018 setting out DFID’s five priorities including her vision of Britain’s new ‘Great Partnership’ that it can offer the world. She emphasised commitment to the SDGs and to the importance of the private sector in meeting them. She endorsed the ongoing allocation of 0.7% of GNI to aid and development, and of 50% of DFID’s spend for fragile conflict-affected states. She set out new ideas for a Humanitarian Innovation Hub and for contributing NHS expertise to tackling global health issues.
