IDEAS

IDEAS (International Development Education Association of Scotland) is a network of organisations involved in development education in Scotland. The overall goal of IDEAS is to establish the principles of development education at the heart of education policy and practice in Scotland. The work of IDEAS is carried out by its Members Forum who work either in the formal or informal education sectors. The role of IDEAS is to strengthen the work of development education in Scotland by means of mutual support, sharing knowledge and experience, lobbying, addressing fundraising issues and strategic planning. IDEAS aims to work with and influence those in all sectors of education and life-long learning. Links are sought with both formal and non-formal education, including teachers, policy makers, youth, community and adult education workers, trade unions and a range of voluntary organisations. IDEAS is interested in developing its lobbying work further, to influence policy makers in education in Scotland.
