JTS (Just Trading Scotland)

JTS exists to support smallholder farmers in the developing world by growing markets in the UK and Europe for products produced by smallholder farmers around the world and sourced fairly in ways which promote trade justice. JTS currently imports and sells on to retailers fairly traded jams and chutneys, spices and sauces, and above all, Kilombero rice.

JTS sees smallholder farmers as being key to the future of sustainable farming worldwide as they work with little reliance on carbon-releasing fuels, increasingly understand the value of nurturing the soil with organic fertilisers and composts, maintain bio-diversity and farm collaboratively in order to sustain themselves and their families rather than feed the profits of multi-national corporations who farm destructively on an industrial scale.
