The Alliance Policy Committee

The Alliance Policy Committee

What is the Alliance Policy Committee?

The Alliance Policy Committee is a sub-group of our Board of Trustees. Membership of the committee is made up of a combination of individuals from our Board of Trustees and representatives from our wider membership.

The Committee meets to share policy and advocacy priorities, find ways to collaborate and steer the Alliance's policy work. The Committe also sets proactive policy priorities for the Alliance, approve policy positions and support staff to deal reactively with emerging issues. The group meets a minimum of four times a year, and all previous minutes and notes are avaliable here.

The Committee has Terms of Reference that are regularly reviewed and  agreed by the Board of Trustees.

Who sits on the Policy Committee?

The Committee is open to all Alliance members, but members of the Committee may also invite non-Alliance members to specific meetings when appropriate.

Currently, there are 13 permanent members of the Committee:

  • Simon Anderson (Policy Committee Co-Chair (interim) & Chair of Board)
  • Cathy Ratcliff (Thrive, Policy Committee Co-chair & Board Member)

You can become a permanent Committee member (as per Terms of Reference), or you can participate more informally by joining meetings that interest you.

All quartely meeting dates are published on the events page of our website. Quarterly meetings are normally held in February,  May, August & November, and take place in Edinburgh. If you cannot join in person, it is always possible to join online remotely via Zoom. Get in touch for more information.
