Freelance/part-time - one day per week

Salary: £25,552 pro-rata

About the Organisation

The Scotland Malawi Partnership (SMP) is the national civil society network coordinating, supporting and representing the people-to-people links between our two nations. We represent a community of 94,000 Scots with active links to Malawi.

We are a membership organisation which anyone in Scotland with an interest in Malawi can join. We are non-governmental and politically neutral. We exist to support our members and we are led by members.

We have over 1,000 member organisations and key individuals, including half Scotland's local authorities, every Scottish university and most of its colleges, 200 primary and secondary schools, dozens of different churches and faith-based groups, hospitals, businesses, charities and NGOs, and a wide range of grass-root community-based organisations. Our work permeates almost all aspects of Scottish civil society.

About the Role

Applications are invited from talented, fast-working videographers with strong storytelling skills and a track record in self-shooting & editing.

Filming in Scotland across an exciting range of topics, the key purpose of this role is to create original content for our social media channels and website.

These will involve operating a camera and editing software to create short explainer videos for web and mobile as well as teasers for social media that convey the essence of some of the many dignified people to people interactions between Scotland and Malawi.

It will also involve covering events e.g. AGM'17AGM'16  and occasional longer pieces.

As well as sharing our values on respectful bilateral Scotland-Malawi links, the successful candidate will be required to work closely with other members of the team to input to the initial brief, arrange shoots and any clearances, conduct interviews and then deliver the finished edit.

You will report to the Media & Communications Officer and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
