Open Society Foundations: Programme Officer (Fixed-term)

Open Society Foundation Programme Officer (Fixed-term)

Fiscal Governance Program

The mission of the Fiscal Governance program (FGP) is to promote greater openness, accountability, and equity in the fiscal and economic systems of countries where OSF works. Specifically, we work to address the ways in which corruption, plutocracy and populism can undermine public finance management and economic policy-making in ways that hurt society's poorest and most vulnerable.

Job Profile
This position is a temporary six-month position to replace a Program Officer on parental leave. This role has responsibility for carrying out existing grant making obligations, scoping for new funding opportunities, and managing relationships with other OSF entities as well as potential and current grantees.

This position will focus on two specific thematic areas: natural resource governance and trade governance. The PO will be responsible for implementing existing grant making and advocacy strategies in both of these fields on behalf of FGP. Ideally, the candidate should have previous experience working on economic governance issues and bring substantial existing knowledge of trade governance and the leading actors in the field, especially in the United States. Existing knowledge of the natural resource governance field is a plus but not a requirement.
