Salary: £31,584 pro-rata


About the Organisation

International Development Education Association Scotland (IDEAS) is a network of organisations and individuals across Scotland that actively support and promote Development Education and Education for Global Citizenship.

Members include large NGOs, small organisations and individuals working in areas such as international development, global poverty, sustainable development, social justice and citizenship. They also include the regionally based Development Education Centres (DECs) who provide local practical teacher support.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement project activities as required for Advocacy (Outcome 2), Partnerships (Outcome 3) and Innovation and Capacity Building (Outcome 4) in Scotland. This includes
  1. Organising and running events
  2. Liaising with IDEAS members and wider network to work on advocacy aims and forming partnerships.
  3. Manage IDEAS Bridge 47 and Advocacy task group, which oversees the implementation of Bridge 47 activities within Scotland, and communicate regularly with the IDEAS Executive Committee about the work of the group
  • Annual reporting of project implementation at national level
  • Participate in project staff meetings
  • Responsibility for financial reporting and submissions to Bridge 47 financial coordinator, with support from IDEAS Finance staff.
  • Support Advocacy Coordinator in developing and implementing project activities in Outcome 2
  • Support development of advocacy approaches to ensure Global Citizenship Education is represented in national, European and global level polices related to the SDGs (recognising GCE both as a goal and as a means of achieving the SDGs)
  • Conduct any other task assigned by the Advocacy Coordinator in line with the job profile of the National Officer
