Salary: £50,000 - £80,000

About the Role 

Reporting to the Humanitarian Director, and in close coordination with other technical and programme areas of CBM Global, the post holder leads the organisation Disability Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction strategy development and technical implementation plan.

The role supports Country teams DiDRR programmatic delivery, ensures effective monitoring, evaluation and continual refinement of the plan. Together with the Humanitarian Director, the position holder ensures the plan is resourced and promoted both internally and externally in collaboration with CBM Member Associations and other programme department units.   • Set the overall strategic objectives and geographic priorities, based initially on the most at-risk communities and countries
  • Develop and oversee delivery of the Global DIDRR plan, as an integral part of CBM Global Programmes
  • Ensure that DIDRR project proposals are a) using the Federation Strategy as the reference and/or b) part of an existing CBID project and are c) developed to meet agreed standards of design and quality for them to be presented to donors
  • Analyses policies, trends, data & research in DIDRR in order to influence the external environment and improve and further develop CBM’s policies and practice in the delivery of the DIDRR plan • Be involved, in international & regional DIDRR partnerships and networks
  • Promote the effective collaboration of international, regional and country technical advisers with country based staff and partners, Member Associations staff and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate the development of criteria, tools and guidelines to support project design and development and ensure relevant projects receive technical input in line with DIDRR principles, criteria and approach • Support DIDRR MEAL as needed
  • Act as Focal Point and resource for UNISDR and the International Disability Stakeholder Group of Persons with Disabilities on inclusive practice
  • Establish clear guidelines for programme evaluation and indicators
  • Support evaluation personnel in setting up and commissioning independent programme evaluations for informing and further developing CBM’s DIDRR programming
  • Pursue opportunities to work in consortia in order to leverage the impact of CBM Global programmes
  • Define HR requirements in support of DIDRR (i.e. country and regional advisors, evaluators, international level expertise) and support HR in the development of relevant HR plans.
