Role and Responsibilities
The Communications & Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for conceiving, implementing and
managing Gaia Education’s communications and marketing strategy in order to increase their visibility and
impact in the world. Working in close collaboration with Branding, Marketing Operations and Webmaster, you will be able to transform your drive, creativity and passion for sustainability into energising social media communications, execute captivating marketing campaigns and contribute to the correct maintenance of the website. Your role will be the one that converts interest into engagement and engagement into transformative activity. People and planet savvy, you will require flare and flexibility in being able to think and act strategically, build relationships and support programme organisers and participants from varying contexts and 48 countries, and maintain Gaia Education’s website, social media and database platforms.
- Act as first point of content for all enquiries concerning partnerships, office administration and students/customers’ queries
- Coordinate and execute website updates, and quality control content
- Organise, develop and deliver quarterly email newsletter
- Co-develop and execute web, SEO, social media marketing, email and content marketing campaigns
- Manage Gaia Education Social Media channels and blogs and develop content for campaigns
- Provide support for graphic design and content revision of marketing and communications materials
- Manage and maintain email marketing lists and common storage platforms (Google Drive and Dropbox)
- Process, record and dispatch sales of Gaia Education programmes and products
This is a full time position and the starting salary is £16.800 per annum.
Person Specification
Language
Professional fluency in oral and written English is essential. Knowledge of Portuguese, Spanish or at least one other European language is a definite plus.
Communications , Marketing & Website Maintenance
Background in designing and implementing marketing & communications strategies for NGOs on tight budgets, maximising the use of social media. Marketing experience in the education for sustainable development sector is desirable. Ability to utilise the most appropriate platforms including ActiveCampaign (newsletters), AdWords, Social Media and paid adverts in digital and printed media. Experience in working with website design & maintenance platforms (Wordpress or Joomla) and HTML
coding desired.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Speaking and writing clearly and effectively; listening to others, correctly interpreting messages from others and responding appropriately; tailoring language, tone, style and format to match different audiences. This is an international role which requires cultural sensitivity. Experience in customer/client service roles, a background in editing or journalism is valued.
Good organisational, time management and administration skills
Demonstrating professional competence, observing deadlines and achieving results.
Capable of working alone and as a part of a team
Motivated by professional rather than personal concerns; showing persistence and innovation when faced with difficult problems or challenges; remaining calm in stressful situations. Solutions oriented.
