Fundraising and Supporter Relations Manager - EMMS International 

Location: Edinburgh 

Salary: (FTE) - £28,322 to £31,469

Commitment: 28 hours per week

About the Organisation

EMMS International works with partners in Edinburgh, Malawi, Nepal, Zambia and India to improve people’s well-being and provide better healthcare. They run a diverse range of initiatives with an emphasis on some of the poorest and hardest to reach areas of the world. As well as specialising in palliative care, mother and baby health and the prevention of transmission of diseases, their work also addresses inequalities for people who are excluded and marginalised through education, training and development.

About the Role

Working with the Director of Fundraising, the Fundraising and Supporter Relations Manager is responsible for maximising income and nurturing supporter commitment for our inspiring healthcare projects in Malawi, India, Nepal and Edinburgh.  

The post holder will develop profitable fundraising events to profile the Charity and attract new supporters. You will manage and grow relationships with supporters, churches, health and other networks and facilitate groups and individuals in organising their own fundraising activities. You will identify new high value donors and implement a strategy to increase the number of funders to the charity. 

The post holder will support the Director of Fundraising in soliciting significant gifts from individuals and their foundations. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maximise income from regular donors to ensure income against an agreed annual target is met 

  • Report on agreed key performance indicators and monitor and evaluate against gifts received

2. Provide an excellent standard of stewardship for our supporters, facilitating better engagement with our projects leading to an increase in giving

  • Develop and deliver bespoke activities and communications including making thank you calls, sending bespoke donor acknowledgement and project update correspondence, face to face meetings, fundraising events and project visits where appropriate.

3. Create new income streams.

  • Research and identify prospective new funders and work closely with the Director of Fundraising to develop a cultivation plan. 

4. Keep database and staff updated with information and correspondence

  • Ensuring EMMS International’s database (Raisers Edge) is fully updated with all information and correspondence. 
  • Help manage GDPR compliance
  • Share relevant information with the rest of the Fundraising Team

5. Work with the Director of Fundraising and Communications Consultant to produce exceptional direct mail, email and social media appeals and project information.

6. Develop and maintain a full understanding of all programme activity at EMMS International.

7. Perform any other such duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as determined by the Director of Fundraising
