Finance and Business Officer - International Development Education Association of Scotland (IDEAS)

Salary: 0.6FTE £26,000 pro rata.

Location: IDEAS Office, Edinburgh.

About the Organisation:   

The International Development Association of Scotland is a network of organisations and individuals involved in Development Education and Education for Global Citizenship across Scotland.  By raising awareness of global concerns and illustrating the potential for change, the IDEAS network aims to influence those in all sectors of formal and informal education and lifelong learning including teachers, policy makers, youth and adult education workers and a range of voluntary and statutory organisations. 

About the Role: 

IDEAS are looking to recruit a part-time Finance and Business Officer to join their small team and play a key role in the running of their organisation. This will include managing their accounting system, financial reporting, fundraising, managing their office and providing administrative support where required. 

Key responsibilities:

  • To manage our accounting systems including the processing of payments, expenses claims, credit cards, invoicing, and reconciliations, and to liaise with the bank. 
  • To prepare regular finance reports and budget forecasts for the IDEAS Executive Committee
  • To work with IDEAS staff to monitor and support the financial reporting of the Bridge 47 project 
  • To identify further funding opportunities for the organisation 
  • To ensure the smooth running of the office, including management of IT systems, office equipment, utilities and other services, and filing systems, including liaising with Scotdec on office management.
  • To be the first point of contact for enquiries, manage digital communication channels  including regular communications with IDEAS members
  • To review and update health and safety policies, and other relevant policies, as required in collaboration with IDEAS Executive Committee
  • To provide admin support for IDEAS Executive Committee including scheduling meetings and taking minutes when necessary
