Webinar on new report on use of translation and interpretation in development NGOs

6th December 2018, 14:00

The Universities of Portsmouth and Reading, in partnership with INTRAC, have published a report that investigates the use of translation and interpretation in development NGOs. It is partly based on an in-depth case study of Malawi. It finds that many NGOs do not have the language skills to communicate effectively with aid recipients, which may lead to negative impacts for development projects. It makes a series of policy recommendations for NGOs and donors to improve their language policies and practice.
