New proposal development series 

1st July 2019

This brand-new proposal development workshop series will take you through the essential stages of writing a fundable project proposal. The five-part series of half-day workshops will address the component parts and underlying processes that need to be in place to help you write an evidenced and persuasive project proposal.

Alliance Policy Committee meeting

22nd August 2019

The Alliance Policy Committee is a sub-group of our board and is made up of representatives from our membership. The Committee meets to share policy and advocacy priorities, find ways to collaborate and steer the Alliance's policy work going forward. This particular meeting will include an opportunity to refresh the committee's Terms of Reference. Come along and have your say!

Safeguarding Training for Trustees - Edinburgh

10th September 2019

Over the past year, the international development sector has been working hard to transform safeguarding policy, capacity and practice to ensure that those we work with are safe and protected as far as possible from abuse, exploitation or harassment in any form.  In Scotland particularly, there has been a considerable amount of work in this area. To take this forward, it is clear that strong and committed leadership is critical to embed and nurture healthy safeguarding cultures in organisations.

Therefore, the Alliance is providing a set of workshops for board members, to ensure that Scotland-based organisations working internationally are supported and equipped to transform polices and practice, and strengthen their capacity.

Beyond Borders International Festival 2019

Gaia Education SDGs Training for Multipliers

9th September 2019, 10:00 to 17:00

The highly interactive and participatory training engages participants in progressive conversations about the local relevance of the SDGs – based on a set of SDGs Flashcards designed to help structure small group dialogues. By exploring the four dimensions of sustainability (social, ecological, economic and worldview) of each of the 17 SDGs in question-focused small group conversations, participants will collaborate in developing ideas and strategies for local and regional SDGs implementation through a series of demonstration projects. The flashcard based facilitation process will enable participants to replicate these community conversations about the SDGs in their government department, at the university, in schools, businesses, and community groups around the Edinburgh area.
