Rainbow Turtle's Producer Visit & The Scottish Fair Trade Forum Awards

Rainbow Turtle's Producer Visit & The Scottish Fair Trade Forum Awards

12th October 2017, 19:30 to 22:00

Rainbow Turtle and The Scottish Fair Trade Forum will be combining forces this year for an event incorporating a producer visit, a Fair Trade 3-course meal and the Scottish Fair Trade Forum's 5th Annual Awards.

Here's how the evening will look:

- The Scottish Fair Trade Forum's 5th Annual Awards

- Rainbow Turtle's guest producer Anjali Schiavina from Mandala Apparels (India)

- A 3-course Fair Trade meal from Redss Catering

The evening starts with the Scottish Fair Trade Forum's 5th annual Awards - so come along to celebrate the achievements of Fair Trade campaigners from across Scotland. The award categories are as follows:

- The Innovation Award sponsored by Reflex Blue

- The Fair Trade and Climate Change Award sponsored by The Energy Agency

- Volunteer of the Year Award

- Community Award

- Campaign of the Year Award

- Outstanding Achievement Award

After that we'll hear from Anjali Schiavina, founder of Mandala Apparels in Pondicherry, India. She'll be telling us about her work with organic cotton farmers and garment workers, with a particular focus on the environmental impacts and empowering women through employment. She'll also share her story of helping to gain Fairtrade Town status for Pondicherry, soon to be India's first.

We'd then love you to stay for a 3-course, Fair Trade meal, provided by Redss Catering and there'll be a choice of two delicious options on the night. We believe it's important to keep food waste to an absolute minimum so you'll have the choice of either option, or to say you don't mind which - this means we'll not only be celebrating, enjoying and supporting Fair Trade, but folllowing principles of sustainability while being mindful and respectful of those who so often go without.

We hope you can come and celebrate Fair Trade in Scotland and around the world with us here in Paisley!
