We need diverse voices to influence how the Sustainable Development Goals make a positive difference to people and the planet. The Sustainable Development Goals represent enormous opportunities for people to become involved in a global movement towards a more sustainable, fairer future. One where no one is left behind.

It is vital that people who experience inequalities are involved in their implementation, and that barriers to participation are understood and addressed. There are opportunities for organisations to collaborate and make a difference.

This event is an opportunity for people with an interest in equality, diversity and inclusion to come together to explore:

  • The relevance of the Sustainable Development Goals in meeting the needs of people with diverse needs and perspectives. We will also explore how / whether the Goals have been incorporated by policy makers across the UK.
  • How we strengthen the relationships between us, whilst acknowledging our differences, and identify shared interests
  • Opportunities to collaborate in longer term programmes that can have a meaningful and lasting positive impact

Who should attend?
The event will be of particular interest to:

  • People and organisations with an interest in equalities, or who represent a particular equalities interest
  • Policy makers
  • People or organisations looking to explore opportunities to collaborate on longer term programmes, driven by people with lived experience of diverse needs, perspectives and inequalities

More information about the project behind this event is here. The project stems from the Open Government Pioneers Project, funded by the Big Lottery.
