Struggling to get your head around GDPR? In need of some new fundraising ideas? Or maybe you want some inspiration to improve your comms? Join us for our new annual training day!
In response to demand from our members, this year we will look at three key topics throughout the day: GDPR, fundraising and communication.
Places are limited, so don’t delay! Check out details of the different sessions and guest speakers below.
GDPR - Purpose and Practise
9:45 – 12:15
In this session we explore the upcoming legislation on GDPR and how to put it into practise nationally and internationally. Whether you are just starting to think about it, or already grappling with implementation, this session is for you.
We will hear from Maureen Falconer, Regional Manager Scotland, Information Commisioner’s Office and Bilal Ghafoor, Director and Information Governance Consultant (Amber Information Consulting Ltd.).
There will be time to put your questions to the experts on the day. If you have specific questions you would like them to address, you can email us your questions in advance (firstname.lastname@example.org)
13:00 – 14:00
Gavin McLellan, experienced fundraiser, will give us an introduction to prospect fundraising and how your organisation can use it to generate income. Find out how you can engage high and mid-value donors and make the best use of your networks.
14:10 – 15.05
Global Giving is a crowdfunding platform that focuses on helping organisations to become more sustainable in their fundraising practises through digital fundraising. They will be introducing us to their Accelerator programme that provides organisations with online training and practical crowdfunding experience to help expand their donor base, improve digital skills and raise funds.
Finding and Sharing Your Story
15:15 – 16:30
Do you want new ways to share your message? In this session, Huw Owens, an experienced BBC editor, will help you identify and communicate your charity’s story. You’ll also discover how your smart phone can be an effective tool for creating content.
