Time: 11:00am-12:30pm, Wednesday 3 June 2020

Modality: Zoom, Online

This public launch event for our new report - Improving Policy Coherence in Scotland - will bring together government officials, politicians and civil society to explore what steps are needed to make Scotland a leader in sustainable development.

The report, published on 5 May, is the result of collaborative work by a range of charities across Scotland and aims to bring together different stakeholders and recommends using an open source online platform to enable a collaborative approach to policy development.

It also includes various recommendations for both the Scottish Government and the Scottish Parliament that you may find interesting, including developing mechanisms that will help Scotland build back better after COVID-19.

This online event will begin with an introduction to the report – and the online body of work that underpins it – which is open source and editable, designed to allow users to create and collaboratively edit pages easily with no prior experience.

The launch will be followed by a panel discussion with special guests and an open Q&A.

Confirmed Panelists:

  • Ishani Erasmus, Sustainable Development Scrutiny Officer at the Scottish Parliament

  • Dr Graham Long, Senior Lecturer in Politics at Newcastle University, currently working with WWF and the Greater London Authority on SDG monitoring and evaluation.

  • Dr Estelle Jones, Deputy Team Lead - International Development, Scottish Government

  • Ernesto Soria Morales, Senior Policy Analyst, Public Governance Directorate, OECD

So, join us for a fascinating discussion and find out how you can get involved to inform better, more coherent policy making in Scotland.
