POSTPONED: Safeguarding Training for Trustees (Saturday Session)
Saturday, 25th April 2020
Over the past year, the international development sector has been working hard to transform safeguarding policy, capacity and practice to ensure that those we work with are safe and protected as far as possible from abuse, exploitation or harassment in any form. In Scotland particularly, there has been a considerable amount of work in this area. To take this forward, it is clear that strong and committed leadership is critical to embed and nurture healthy safeguarding cultures in organisations.
The responsibility to ensure that organisations have a healthy safeguarding culture and the highest standards of safeguarding lies with the trustees. Therefore, the Alliance is providing a set of workshops for board members, to ensure that Scotland-based organisations working internationally are supported and equipped to transform polices and practice, and strengthen their capacity.
This is the fifth training session in series of trainings that are taking place at approximately six weekly intervals at locations both inside and beyond the central belt over 2019 and 2020. To ensure that as many organisations as possible are able to access this training, it is likely that there will be space for one trustee per organisation.
This particular training session is being offered on Saturday 25 April, especially to reach trustees who are not able to attend trainings offered during working hours. Threfore, the interim webinar also proposes to run on this date.
