Fundamentals of fundraising training in Aberdeen

Who is it for:  this training will be useful for fundraising officers, business development officers, CEO and trustees alike. You don’t need to have any prior knowledge of fundraising to attend the session.

Why you should attend:    

Do you have a fundraising strategy? Do you know the difference between corporate partnerships and in-kind support? Are you up to date with the UK Code of Fundraising practice? 

If the answer is no to any of these, then this is definitely the training workshop for you! 

This full day workshop will help you to think more strategically about your organisation’s fundraising and the different options open to you. It will be an opportunity to brush up on the standards and regulations you need to comply with and a chance to hear from your peers about their solutions to commonly encountered fundraising challenges.

What you will be able to do by end of the course:  

  1. Understand how to take a strategic and proportionate approach to fundraising 

  1. Be aware of industry standards and essential regulation to comply with in Scotland and the UK 

  1. Understand how major giving, corporate partnerships, pro-bono/in-kind support and legacy giving work in practice  

  1. Know the variety of digital tools that can be used to manage fundraising activities and securely store donor information  

  1. Identify best practice across the Scottish third sector/ the international development sector  

About the trainer: 

Judith Lowes is a consultant and trainer with a focus on income generation and strategic planning for charities. Judith has worked across a range of fundraising disciplines- primarily corporate, events, trusts and institutional giving. Judith has worked with Comic Relief as a UK Grants Advisor, the Institute of Fundraising as a trainer and with Save the Children as a Corporate Fundraiser.   

Who can attend: 

The training workshop is free for all members both individual and organisational members. Non-members can request to join the training workshop if there is space, for a fee of £100.
